Study Lock Social

Study Lock Social stores account credentials (hashed passwords), email addresses, usernames, profile data, friendship links, messages, reports, challenges, and study-event summaries to provide its social features.

What is shared?

Leaderboard participation is opt-in by default. Your public profile and activity are shown only according to your privacy settings. Your email address and password hash are not exposed on public profiles. Study activity sent by the extension can contribute to rankings if you opt into the leaderboard.

Messages and safety

Messages are available to friends, subject to the recipient's message settings. Users can block and report accounts. The app includes report intake and a moderator inbox for accounts configured as moderators. Reports are not reviewed automatically; the operator must actively moderate the community and provide a support contact.

Account deletion

You can request deletion from Profile & privacy. The app removes your account and associated records managed by this MVP. Back up anything you need before deletion.

Security and limitations

Use a unique password and do not share sensitive personal information. Transport security should be HTTPS in production. This project includes email verification and password reset when the configured email API is working, but it has not had an independent security audit. Do not use it for children or sensitive information until these safeguards and applicable legal requirements are addressed.
